The Scarpa Collection
In 1957, Italian architect Carlo Scarpa was commissioned by the Olivetti typewriter company to design their showroom in Venice, Italy. This showroom is considered a masterpiece of modern architecture, and is currently a museum showcasing his work.
These Scarpa mosaics are inspired by the works of Carlo Scarpa, their form echoing the keyboards of the typewriters themselves.
Available in a multitude of stone finishes, this mosaic can be customised to the project if a stock solution is not a perfect fit.
Five different configurations are currently offered, Original Wide Joint, Original Narrow joint, the Mini Scarpa “Scarpetta”, the Scarpe Grande, which is a little over double the scale of the Original Wide Joint, and the massive Scarpa XL, which is over three times the scale, and looks spectacular in large areas.
This Scarpa Mosaic Collection is available to be custom made for your project. Mixes of colours, specific stones, and different finishes are available with minimum quantities as little as 10 square metres. Custom non standard layout configurations for moderately larger scale projects are available too. Turnaround time for custom projects are typically 8 weeks.

Original Wide Joint Scarpa Mosaic
Closest to the original form in the Negozio Olivetti. Wide grout lines allow a highly customisable visual identity. Able to be either hand-trowel grouted with care, or for a more monolithic smooth finish; overfilled and then honed by machine for a high end look.
Original Narrow Joint Scarpa
Narrow Joint – A more simple install mosaic which uses more standard grout joint width, and showcases the stone with more prominence.
Generally in stock, and available in many different stone types.

Mini Scarpetta Mosaic
The new Mini Scarpetta mosaic holds it’s form very closely to the proportions of the Original Scarpa, but closer to a half scale. Especially beautiful when hand finished for an undulated surface.
Special order time is 6-8 weeks typically.
Scarpa Grande Mosaic
The first of the new large scale Scarpa Mosaics. A much more substantial 2.5x scale in comparison to the Original Wide format, it’s 20mm grout lines, and large pieces of select quality stone lend itself to medium and large scaled areas.
With the extreme levels of customisation, and over 13 prototyped stone types, this range is strictly special order only. Good news is that special orders are only 6-8 weeks as a typical turnaround.
Scarpa XL Mosaic
Introducing the Scarpa XL Mosaic, the grandest tile in our Scarpa Tile range. With its vast size of a 3.5x scale, and stunning 30mm wide grout lines, this tile is designed for special spaces that demand a textural focal point.
Mid-century Italian design, the Scarpa XL Mosaic, available in different customisable stones and finishes. The texture of this tile is truly amazing, adding depth and character to any room. Transform your space into a luxurious retreat with the Scarpa XL Mosaic.
As with the Scarpa Grande, the Scarpa XL is strictly a special order of only 6-8 weeks.
